Absinthe, my favorite drink, "After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world." - Oscar Wilde

Counting can be difficult, I know.Razvan-R wrote:Ok tonight (sorry for being late) i will close downthis topic... and give each team a participation number.... since there are only 3 teams... i am seriously considering allowing teams with less people but same restrictions. Stay tuned.
There are 4 teams and with Team360 there will be 5.
We could do with another one, imho.
To be honest team 360 have had over a week to setup its team... they have until tonight... when the sign-ups will be closed....
Teams without 5 people will not be allowed... reason for this, is the fact that with less then 5 people you have an advantage when it comes to pitstops. Less people, means less driver changes... and the point about this is to let every driver an equal amount of time behind the wheel.

There are easy ways to deal with the advantages of teams with less than 5 drivers: Reduce the final lap count by 10 for each driver a team lacks (according to the rules, pitstop penalties). Or simply have every team at least do 5 full service pitstops including tire changes during the race (teams with less stops at the end will be DQed).Razvan-R wrote:Teams without 5 people will not be allowed... reason for this, is the fact that with less then 5 people you have an advantage when it comes to pitstops. Additionally, the teams with less than 5 drivers are handicapped in comparison to full teams because longer stints for drivers statistically increases the rate of mistakes they make. It won't be as severe as in fast paced endurance competitions because in this one the cars are going rather slow (I would guess, but maybe some dare to try and actually race, who knows). But I still consider it a disadvantage.
While I can fully understand your effort to get full teams, and I really am of the opinion that this is desirable, I don't think you'll want to have only 3 or 4 cars running on the track. Would be pretty empty, wouldn't it.
And believe me, I really appreciate your effort on this event. It's a great idea and there are quite a number of people willing to take part. If you insist on your rules though a lot of them won't be there. Please, be a little bit more flexible on this. It will only make this event even better.
