CLC is pleased to announce the next event (after the Admin hug and OPC Birthday celebrations).

On the weekend of the 5th~6th March 2011Tired of Tyres returns to CLC!

End Time 23:59 6th March 2011

Following on from the last successful running of Tired of Tyres in September 2008, organised by the one and only Gooney we are (finally) going to run the event again! However, this time participation will be by individuals rather than by team participation.

The Concept

The concept is simple...

• It is an endurance event.
• Laps count (so drive right way or they won't count)
• Tyres are expensive, so for each tyre changed you lose 5 laps

Now think about it, every time you !pitlane you get new tyres, everytime you enter the pits / spec you get new tyres.... and that's before you wear any tyres out! Endurance and careful driving will be the key.

But all that is too easy. So... the twist is that only the FZ5 will be allowed to compete, and it must have voluntary added weight of 200kg (driver can decide on the position of the added weight).

The track will be announced just before the event (mainly because I haven't looked to see what is in the rotation at that time).

How the laps are counted

Simply, CLiS will be used to track the lap count. Displays like with the Gumball will be available to view stats of competitors and also a button to track your lap count.

Prizes

To be decided... expect a large amount of cash and maybe an MRT if, and only if, someone manages a real feat of endurance.

Finally

This will be the first CLiS controlled event, so there may be a few bugs to iron out. I think that its all set, but stick with us if there are any.

But Matt, you sure about just 5 laps penalty? 20 like back then mightve been too much, but 5 sounds a bit too forgiving. did you do some number crunching to figure it out?

5 laps per tyre. That equates to 20 for a pitstop (like last time).

It may be a bit high, but we'll see how the event goes. The primary aim of the first event (for me) is to test the code. We can see what the results are and tune the settings as a result of that.
