I notice a lot of older images I've saved on imageshack just start disappearing. Anyone know if there is a shelf life on imageshack pictures? Do opictures require constant access to keep them alive or something?

Here's an example of a pic I uploaded just over 12 months ago. Now it's gone. I'm worried because I am seeing a lot of this.

Funny. All the images I have ever uploaded to my pages.google account are still there (well, the ones I did not delete myself).

Ok Back ON topic. I have noticed imageshack deleting a hell of a lot of images. Just go through the Profile thread and you can see that. I figured that they would at least warn you if they were going to delete something.

I have always used www.tinypic.com and as far as I know they stay there forever/very long time.

I've not had any of my ImageShack uploads deleted so far, oldest one dates back to four years ago.

Some of their servers do have a tendency to go offline every now and then, but they're usually up and running again after a short while.

Outside of the US, imageshack is VERY slow.
I hate pictures hosted on there - they draw at dial-up speeds.. (I'm on 20mbit!)

Slow? Never thought so. The popup ads and crap takes some extra time, but a standard image, never takes long for me.

How long does it take you to get this to load?

I'm currently at work (1Mbit separate private line) and this image above took less than one second to load.

Around 3 seconds on a 20Mb connection, not too bad, but thats a 150kb picture, some pics can get upto 1mb easily which would mean around 20 seconds load time

Chesta ones on photobucket are horrifically slow for me.

The imageshack pic took less than a second and the one from Chesta's photobucket account around 5 seconds. But yeah, photobucket is just incredibly slow.

18 seconds for chestas but jasons was pretty much instant.
