- ** Police Duties **
- Expected to keep up-to-date with rule changes published in this forum.
- Expected to be an example of good behaviour at all times in the server.
- Expected to maintain a reasonable level of police patrols on the server.
- To notify the Police Chief / Deputy of any long abscence (beforehand).
** Police Status **
Yellow Cadet - Patrolling, on duty.
Yellow Officer - Off duty. Cannot initiate chases, stop suspects or give fines.
- Officers may use Yellow status whenever they need to go off duty (ie due to damage or distractions) but are still driving a liveried Police car.
Red Officer - Patrolling, on duty.
- Officers may only change to Red status when in the pitlane.
** Patrol Rules ** - Police must use the Police skin appropriate to their rank when patrolling.
- Use of the wrong skin (or no skin) means that the Police Officer / Cadet is off duty and cannot chase, bust or fine.
- Use of the skin for a higher ranking Officer will result in suspension or dismissal from the Police force.
- Police must obey all road and driving rules when driving a CLC Police liveried vehicle and not in a pursuit.
** Pursuit Rules ** - Police may stop any vehicle suspected of breaking the law for a routine check. Abuse of this power will be punished.
- If any vehicle fails to stop a pursuit condition may be initiated. Pursuit conditions are described below.
- Police Officers are expected to drive with consideration for other road users.
- You may use the wrong side of the road, but are expected to make all efforts to avoid collisions with civilians.
- If you are involved in a collision with a civilian during a chase because you were not obeying the road rules you are expected to refund them from your own money.
- You may join another pursuit when it is in condition 2 or higher.
- You may not speed to join another chase that is less than condition3, unless specifically requested by another police Officer (because the suspect is getting away).
- You may not disengage a pursuit unless you have engaged the wrong civilian as other Police Officers may be able to engage the suspect or assist you.
- If you are disabled by virtue of being flipped only other Police Officers / Cadets, off duty Police Officers and Official Towtrucks (that are on duty) are allowed to help you. You must warn all others to stay clear. If you are flipped by a civilian(this does not include the suspect or off duty Police) then you must disengage from the pursuit and should report the civilian for interfering with a Police pursuit.
- If you are forced to disengage a pursuit, either by having been flipped by a civilian, or by having gone out of bounds you may not re-engage the suspect even if other Police Officers / Cadets are still pursuing the suspect, except during bank robberies.
- The conditions may not be raised for the reason to be able to get backup or to be able to use more force. The reason to raise conditions is strictly the consideration of the danger the suspect does to the civilians, more detailed explained below.
** Pursuit Conditions **
Condition1: Initial pursuit condition.
Requirements to raise to Condition1: - Suspect is not complying with road rules (speeding, wrong side, drifting, illegal turns).
Pursuit conduct: - No contact.
- If suspect attempts to ram / brake check try to avoid contact.
Other Police: - Other members of Police cannot join the pursuit, but may follow on distance for future backup, as long as they dont interfere with chase.
Condition2: Suspect refuses to stop / is endangering other drivers
Requirements to raise to Condition2: - Suspect has not stopped and is clearly not indicating to do so.
- Suspect stops, but then drives off.
Pursuit conduct: - Light contact to the rear of the suspect car ONLY.
- Suspect should not lose control or spin out as a result of contact.
- Beware of lag.
- No (or very little) damage to be caused to suspect or Police car.
- Blocking only permitted if suspect comes to a halt or is travelling at less than 10kph.
- Static roadblocks are NOT permitted
- TPaC (Tactical Pursuit and Containment) with multiple Officers is permitted. Officers box suspect and brake to a halt slowly! TPaC video (from 1:20).
Other Police: - Police not engaged may join chase if it passes them, but hang back as support for the 1st Officer.
- Police not engaged may only speed to join the chase if backup is called for.
Condition3: Suspect is endangering other drivers
Requirements to raise to Condition3: - Suspect has not stopped.
- Suspect is dangerous to other users (wrong way / hitting other drivers or Police).
- Or suspect has been running for a long time (10mins+ at Condition2 For same class officer / suspect cars
if suspect is lower class a longer time if suspect higher class shorter time).
Pursuit conduct: - Light to medium contact.
- Make suspect crash or go out of control (PIT manoeuvre etc).
- No ramming.
- Damage may be caused to suspect or Police car.
- Suspect may be hosiptalised (crashed / flipped), but not killed (OOB).
- Roadblocks permitted.
Other Police: - Other members of Police can join the pursuit, and actively participate.
- Police not engaged should head to scene as soon and as quickly as possible (lights and sirens on).
Condition4: Suspect is very dangerous
Requirements to raise to Condition4: - Suspect has not stopped.
- Suspect is very dangerous to other users (wrong way / hitting other drivers or Police).
- Suspect is not attempting to avoid other drivers.
- Or suspect has been running for a long time (10mins+ at Condition3).
Pursuit conduct: - Heavy contact.
- Make suspect crash or go out of control (PIT manoeuvre etc).
- Head-on collisions initiated by the Police are actively discouraged.
- Suspect may be hospitalised (crashed / flipped), or killed (OOB).
Other Police: - Other members of Police can join the pursuit, and actively participate.
- Police not engaged should head to scene as soon and as quickly as possible (lights and sirens on).
** Fines **
Fines are to be give according to the current fines list (!f)
Condition1 €0 - €200
Condition2 €200 - €500
Condition3 €1000 - €1500
Condition4 €1500 - €2000
in the case of suspect continues to ram or drives away or pitlanes after busted before a fine can be made this is an instant €2000 fine regardless of condition
If the suspect is driving a car that is not road legal (single seater with no lights / horn) then they are to be respectfully commanded to shift-p and change cars IN ADDITION to the fine given according to the condition at the time of bust. - The Officer / Cadet responsible for initiating the chase is responsible for fining the suspect if they are still enaged in the pursuit, even if they are not at the scene of the bust.
- If the Officer / Cadet responsible for initiating the chase has disengaged (because of OOB or other factors) then the senior Officer / Cadet still engaged is responsible for fining the suspect.
** Bank Robbers ** - Bank robbers take precedence over all other suspects. All Officers and Cadets must disengage any pursuit immediately and attempt to stop the bank robber.
- Police Officers and Cadets are expected to work as a team to bring the bank robber to a halt and bust them.
- You may use the pitlane command during a bank chase if your vehicle becomes damaged to return to the pits and repair. You may also change vehicle whilst in the pits if you feel that another vehicle will allow you to capture the robber more quickly.
- Police Officers and Cadets must not bank camp or block exits or enter the bank while a there is no robbery in progress or while a suspect is loading loot
** Speedtraps ** - Officers may set a speedtrap or use the dashboard speed detector to determine the speed of civilians. You must not use the engage command to see what speed a civilian is travelling at.
** AFK ** - Police Cadets (both red and yellow) must spectate whenever they are AFK for any period of time.
- Officers may take the yellow tag to go afk for a short period of time.
** Cadet Rules ** - Police Cadet is a temporary position given to civilians by an Officer or Admin, for the purposes of training and evaluation of that person as a Police Officer.
- Police Cadets are to be supervised at all times by a Police Officer / Admin. If the supervising Officer/ Admin goes AFK the Cadet must immediately return to being a civilian.
- An Officer may offer a Cadet position to any civilian, or a civilian may request a Cadet position from any Officer / Admin. When asking for a Cadet position you may not ask each Officer / Admin more than once. DO NOT BEG!
- Officers/ Admins may apply any criteria that they wish when selecting Cadets.
- Civilians must have completed 2000km on the CLC server before they can be considered for a Police Cadet position.
- Police Cadets must obey all Police rules.
- Police Cadets are not paid for their work. However, if they are suitably helpful in a bank robbery chase they may receive a portion of the reward for busting in return.
- Police Cadets must patrol in a car approved by the senior Police Officer on duty, or their supervising Officer / Admin should no Officer be on duty.
** Extra Information** - Chases may go out of bounds, and as a Police Officer/Cadet you will have to do your best to follow.
WARNING - GOING OUT OF BOUNDS MAY CAUSE FINE EXCEEDING MAX FINE. - If condition is below 3, and the suspect falls out of bounds - the officer/cadet will have to disengage and the pitlane fee will be the fine.
- If condition is 3 or above, and the suspect falls out of bounds - the officer/cadet should wait for the suspect to get spectated by InSim.
Wrong way on oval - Allowed only as a suspect
- Instant condition 4 and max fine
- Both suspect and officer must avoid civillians
We reserve the right to add, change or remove rules without warning or publication via this website.
Do not argue with admins/police in the server about rules or decisions. If you feel some judgement is unfair, feel free to talk about it in our forums (supporting replays/screenshots will be useful)
