Hmm.. Why are these specs always so far off from reality?

Example here.
VW GLI (this car weighs a few hundred more than the Scirocco): 0-100kph 7.1 seconds... BS, been done over a second faster.
Top speed: 127mph.. lol, has done about 150mph!

I would hope that the devs did not take the specs from the website because the car would be slower than reality.
The engine does put out 200HP and just over 200lb/ft of torque.
