Weird lines at the bottom of trees - especially FE4
Does anyone else see these whacky lines to?
I believe they are caused by the branch texture's edge.
But does anyone else get this ?

Do you get them though? I want to know if it's an issue just on my PC.

I think it's a small bug in LFS. I often have those lines on the road with 4x AA and 16x TF...

It's not part of the ground surface.Eaglezor wrote:yes i do too, i as i said, because on other tracks they have them but bigger and your wheel can fall down it
Thanks kubsztyk - I played around with my antialiasing-transparency (set to supersampling) and it went away. Yet this kills my FPS sometimes so I have to live with it - it seems. Take my advice and never buy a 9600GT. They cut some important corners to save a bit on costs.

(did you change gravity too? wth was BB doing on ze wall?)
Maybe there are some other tree-texture out there that fix this.

He was chasing a robber....
Maybe that idea might work, not all the trees do this thing. But I've never seen anyone make tree textures for LFS. Well I saw one, but he didn't know how transparency worked so, it kinda looked really bad. All the trees were just black rectangles.

Re: weird lines at the bottom of trees - especially FE4
I have gigabyte 8600GT... But before I begin to play S2 online, especially on cruise server where are many objects, I open nvidia control panel and I change frequency of GPU from 600MHz to 650MHz and frequency of card memory from 720MHz to 850MHz. These amounts are border but optimal yet. Even when I overclock my graphics card, fps on cruise server go down, sometimes to 30-40 fps... Even changing the priority of LFS.exe to higher value doesn't help...JasonJ wrote:(...)Take my advice and never buy a 9600GT.(...)

Responding to the gfx card issues...
You lot must be doing something wrong... with an Athlon 2800XP, 1 gb memory and a rubbish NVidia FX5700 I get 20 to 40 fps.
Jason, I have noticed weird graphical errors all throughout the game so I don't think it's anything for you to worry about...

Somethings that I find really hit FPS:kubsztyk wrote:I have gigabyte 8600GT... try
GRAPHICS
User LOD: 0.7 (because 1.0 is really a FPS killer)
Shadow type : [low res] or even [off]
trees, flags, rubber, all set to [off]
lower your AA/AF settings (example AA x2 AF x2)
z-buffer depth 16 (sometimes this is ok)
MISC
Full screen Vertical sync [no] (use limit frame rate instead, vsync can lose many FPS)
Multiplayer Speedup option [YES]
Multiplayer car draw 80m
Dynamic LOD reduction 1.0 (high reduction is higher FPS)
There are lots of more tweaks, but I have found these cause the biggest FPS drain.

Thanks, I try this. Maybe I have not much fps, because when I play online I have turned on gadu-gadu (polish instant messenger), msn, teamspeak, skype (and sometimes I speak on it while playing) and qip? And there are lines, which I was talking about, and which you have on FE near trees:

Re: Weird lines at the bottom of trees - especially FE4
fairly certain those lines have absolutely nothing to do with the trees JJ mentioned, they might even be supposed to be there. Doesn't look weird to me in those screenshots

It's probably down to LFS's crap graphics.

I have a feel it *might* be something to do with my pitroad textures.
I will have a look into it shortly.
