Re: Weird lines at the bottom of trees - especially FE4
I think those linesa are caused by something else. The ones I get at FE4 near the trees, they aren't Anitialiased and don't disappear as I get close to them.
Although the solution is similar, involving AF settings, I can never remove those lines on the track texture joins completely.
I once got rid of them from FE by deleting the finsh line in the road texture. But I dunno where the textures in AS5 contains that bit of white. I think it's where the texture has white at one end. That part of the texture is not used normally, but when AA/AF is used, the game checks the ajoining pixels in the texture to help produce a smoother texture on screen and it goes to the other end of the texture near the edges and pick up white pixels that are normally meant for other parts of textures.....
Well that's what I gathered because I removed the finish line from FE4 and I removed that horizontal lines problem.

Yeh Bobo - you have to figure out what creates the edge of the pit road. Check the ends of that texture. Make the whole texture grey and see if it removes the white lines. You might be able to locate it.
edite: It's pitroad1.dds YEH, and if you remove the concrete surface the white lines disappear. So the lower edge of the concrete is bleeding onto the tarmac. You might be able to remove 1 or two pixels from the lower edge of the concrete in that texture. Or it might turn out to be the upper edge, idk at this point.

The situation at FE4, as happened to me, it goes away if you get your graphics card setttings coorect.

i have never seen those lines, maybe coz of the graphics settings, i thought about buying a 9600gt, but if JJ thinks they so useless, il decide against it

Well its a good budget card that runs cool. It just has some issues with LFS and some AA on some objects like barreies and walls. Other than that its a good bugget alternative. After my experiences, I wish I had paid an extra $100 for something upper range, because I am an anal perfectionist.
Here is the issue: (comparing with 8600GTS)

i see a little dis in the enlarged part of the image, but the rest of the pic looks better with the 8600gts

Exactly what I am saying, the 8600GTS is supposed to be the lesser card than the 9600GT, yet it produces a better picture.SEAN-NZ wrote:i see a little dis in the enlarged part of the image, but the rest of the pic looks better with the 8600gts
The 9600GT might be more powerful and get higher FPS, but it losses some AA detail in the final image in some places. The differences look small in that preview, but when the screen is moving, you notice it alot more.

I hear ATI's are better for the picture quality over FPS. :XJasonJ wrote:Exactly what I am saying, the 8600GTS is supposed to be the lesser card than the 9600GT, yet it produces a better picture.SEAN-NZ wrote:i see a little dis in the enlarged part of the image, but the rest of the pic looks better with the 8600gts

yeh =(Wraak wrote:I hear ATI's are better for the picture quality over FPS. :X
All the reviews I read before buying this card said that the equivalent ATIs in the same class had worse AA/AF and cost more. So that's why I chose this one, regretfully.

Re: Weird lines at the bottom of trees - especially FE4
I havent had any issues with the 9800GT - the 512 ddr3 model. I do have those lines in fe as far as i can remember. I think the 9800 was 30 pounds more than the 9600 maybe less, but i run all to the right - and with bobo's pack on clc you hittin an average of 90-250 (obv depeneding on cpu)
But yes i get the odd line like that.
