Trouble with loading some Websites

Okay so today I come onto the computer, everything works, online games work, lfs works multiplayer, etc. But on internet explorer 7 some of the common websites (facebook, lfsforum, youtube) will not load, whereas Google, msn.co.uk, etc will. I have tried downloading firefox, but the same issue.

I have tried unplugging, and replugging my ethernet cable.
Made sure everything was automatically obtained in Local area network.
Pretty sure i haven't got any viruses, etc.
So i'm running out of ideas which could help. All these websites were working yesterday, so i'm really confused. As far as i know, nothing has changed at all :|

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Sam

I would try rebooting your modem & routers and PC first.

still no luck?

Start >> Run.. >> cmd

Code: Select all

ping youtube.com
ping lfsforum.net
ping facebook.com
ping google.com
Do theses commands work, as in sucessfully ping the sites?

You could try post the results of Start >> Run... >> cmd >> ipconfig /all
It might show your dns server address is incorrect.

try tracerouting them aswell and see if some timing is high or inaccesible. In same start->run, 'cmd', type

Code: Select all

tracert youtube.com
tracert lfsforum.net
tracert facebook.com
tracert google.com

Increasing ping is quite normal, i dont see anything weird there tbh. The first timeout could be your router, gateway or anything like that, or your ISP's first. Something weird could be ping going 28ms, 29ms, 439ms, 42ms, 52 ms for example, or a series of timeouts in the middle of the list. Im running out of ideas...

Oh, i suppose you have tried without your router if you have one? Also, whats your windows version?

The reason I asked if you had a DNS specified is because if you had one, then it maybe not up to date. Auto/blank DNS is safer as your ISP should direct to one automatically.
