Its been a while since an event was announced, and almost as long since one was run.
This event will take place from 00:05 28th May till 23:55 3rd June.
Registration for the event is required and can be done here: http://www.citylifecrew.net/forum/viewt ... =29&t=1878
The Event..... GUMBALL WEEK!!
Unfortunately, due to an Icelandic dust cloud which is predicted to be over Aston at the time of the event, CLC's exclusive tyre supplier (Bridgestone) are unable to fly in slick and high performance tyres from their race facility in Japan. It is therefore with regret that entries must be limited to race class and below for safety reasons (can't have people running on old worn out tyres).
Due to the extreme nature of the event CLC are proud to announce that the University of CLC have managed to assemble yet another MRT which will be given as first prize in the event to the player who completes the most mileage (kilometer-age). Due to the exclusivity of the MRT the University of CLC have demanded that a minimum total of 1500km be completed by the winner before they will release the car (and stop playing with it themselves).
CLC government has also had a look under the sofa for loose change and has managed to scrape together the following additional prizes:
1st place = MRT
2nd place = 100000
3rd place = 50000
How mileage will be recorded
Player total mileage will be used to record the distance covered during the event. The server will be closed (briefly) before (00:00 GMT+1 28th May) and after (23:55 GMT+1 3rd June)the event. During this time the accounts will be backed up so that your total mileage can be recorded and the total distance covered calculated. Updates may also be released during the event so that people can see the leaderboard.
This means that you can connect and disconnect (or OOB) as often as you want during the event, as only your total mileage is counted. This is so that Admins do not have to constantly keep an eye out, or restore distance has happened in previous events. It also means that you can do the miles in your own time, so Australians and Europeans have a fair chance of doing mileage in the daytime.
Rules!
We've kept it short to make it easy:
- All participants must register here: http://www.citylifecrew.net/forum/viewt ... =29&t=1878
- You can connect and disconnect as often as you like - the Server and Admins will track your mileage.
- All normal server rules apply. Complaints against registered players may result in deduction of 100km if upheld.
- Admin decisions are final
Edvin NOR has taken the lead early, quietly putting in the laps. The Wizard DK is in 2nd place with [MoD] in third. A few people have yet to start.
Update 31th May 1425 GMT
Latest update:
Edvin NOR remains in the lead, but at a reduced gap from The Wizard DK. Throttlebody, arriving late has surged from 13th to 3rd postion. From here on down the leaderboard it's business as usual with no movements.
Update 1st June 1815 GMT
Latest update:
Edvin NOR has responded to the closing pack and increased the gap to the others. The epic distance last week seems to be taking a toll on The Wizard DK who has slumped to 3rd place behind Throttlebody who continues to move up the leaderboard. [MoD] is holding station in 4th and there have been minor movements in the lower order, notably with marsillans almost doubling his distance to move ahead of lilstig and kimi_71.
Update 2nd June 1915 GMT
Latest update:
Edvin NOR is holding onto his lead, but Throttlebody is closing the distance. The question remains, can he do it in time? The Wizard DK and [MoD] are holding station behind the led pair, with a roughly constant distance between the two. Marsillans and silverracer have moved up the middle order, pushing jalliz and lilstig down the order. The bottom ranks are pretty static, but very close to each other, so a last push for position could change the order.
Eagle is still in epic fail mode and has yet to turn a wheel, even by OPC standards he's leaving it a bit late!
