I ran RC2 version of Vista for about 9 months on my laptop, I really liked it, but only had 512MB of ram so I couldnt use all the visual goodies that are built in, just turned those off. the "live" search function rocks! I'm just too cheap to go buy the full thing right now, mainly cause I hate my laptop and dont want to spend money on it.

I wouls stick with XP, i have heard good and bad things about Vista, like u have to get ptches for games so that they function properly, it does look nice but i wouldnt get it unless i had an computer that is well good enough (need alot of money for that to happen lol) and it supported more games without the need for patches

I would go with vista! Its awesome, i think i`ve only had to patch one game - the sims 2 :D . Lfs works averagely ok with pc specs of, 2gb slow ram, dual core slow, 8500gt grfx (not very good), 80gb. LOL not good specs, but it works fine. :P

Stick to XP. Vista is just a bad ripoff of the most a Mac has to offer. Plus that it's laggy. I only enjoy my computer, with vista, cause I've downloaded some fun programs and Vista does not have fun programs. And most of the things, even new ones, like phones or a MIDI keyboard does not cooperate with vista very good. Too bad but it's true. So, yhea, stick with XP for a little while untill they have like a superupgrade or something. :P (Sorry for any misspellings :D )

Vista good or bad, I voted yes. I am not sure what yes means, exactly considering it was good or bad. I voted yes because it can be good or bad :P . Seriously though, vista is good, except for you can run into a lot of weird problems that xp didn't have. I know I spent about 3 days after reformating fixing random crap. Such as file transfer rates on my pc were super slow. Example to transfer something from my documents to my c drive would take forever. 1 gig would take like 6 hours or something ridiculous. There are a lot of little problems like that you can get, most annoying part is sometimes you can have these problems sometimes you don't.

Vista looks nice, plus it is the only pc that can run direct X 10 I believe. So if your a gamer in a way vista is for you besides that you need higher specs to run it.

Laptop with Vista Home Premium 32-bit right now, I love it.

XP SP3 will be coming out soon, and that will allow XP to have DX10 with a bunch of other new things. The SP3 RC1 is out now, which you could try out. I have XP with SP3 slipstreamed on a disk but I still don't have a desktop to install on.

SP3 costs $100, I paid for it as I really wanted coverage like Vista without all the bloat. Yes, it is almost as much as real XP Professional but it is worth every penny.

Also, I don't have that legit of a copy of XP, I downloaded XP as I didn't have a disc but I did provide a legit key (volume licensed key).

I don't mean to be attacking you or anything, but putting 'Lol' in a sentance twice is pretty lame... and not needed :|
