Re: Kyoto track
Probably because I have NO graphics card lol...I don't think this PC even came with onboard LMAO! But I have 2GB RAM and a 3GHz Processor, so that makes up for it

Re: Kyoto track
It's a year and a half old, it has the PCMIA (or whatever its called) slot. If I ever come across a graphics card I'd install it, but I ain't gonna go looking for one...10 FPS works for CLC, but it's a b*lls for racing

Re: Kyoto track
Try setting these options for bad a FPS solution:dougie-lampkin wrote:Yep, my FPS is still 10 though
(I just did this with pugsly and got him an extra 10-15 FPS cause he was set up all wrong)
Misc-
MULTIPLAYER SPEED UP OPTION = YES
MULTIPLAYER CAR DRAW = <80M or even less
DYNAMIC LOD REDUCTION = 1.00
Graphics-
USER LOD = < 0.6
MIRROR LOD = < 0.2
DUST LOD <0.5
HAZE = OFF
DRAY SKY = OFF
SHADOW TYPE = OFF
FULL WHEELS = OFF
DRAW TYRES = OFF
DRAW TREES = OFF
DRAW RAUBBER = OFF
TEXTURE MIP BIAS = >-2.0 (in otherwords: 0.0)
DITHER = NO
MIP FILTER = NO
FULL SIZE TEXTURES = NO
CAR AND HELMET SKINS = COMPRESSED
If you have VERTEX SHADING available TURN IT ON (YES)
If you have SIMPLE TRACK option TURN IT ON (YES)
Screen-
try 800X600 X 16 BIT
try 1024X768 X 16 BIT
TBH IMO 10fps is just really impossible. With those settings above...(if you didn't have them set like that before) these new settings should add add at least 10-15 FPS, if not.... try reducing USER LOD to like 0.3 maybe even less.

Re: Kyoto track
Thanks JJ, but that's pretty much my setup, I'll play with it tommorow...It was suggested here that my graphics card is the problem...But I can't upgrade...10 fps actually adds a new dimension to LFS Dodging GTR's at 150mph with 10fps is excellent
The problem is in both single player and multiplayer, so it's probably the graphics card...

Re: Kyoto track
Problem with graphics card? ....
edit: ohh so you're getting anew PC soon so cant get one.. ok
Might I suggest 640x480 ? or even 240x320 ?
I think you mean the problem is no graphics card right? Mid range cards are quite cheap second hand.. ~10-20 pounds ? E-bay. yeah ?dougie-lampkin wrote:Probably because I have NO graphics card lol...I don't think this PC even came with onboard LMAO! But I have 2GB RAM and a 3GHz Processor, so that makes up for it

Re: Kyoto track
I'd like to be able to see the road...JasonJ wrote:Might I suggest 640x480 ? or even 240x320 ?
When I say "new" pc...lmao...its new for me! atm I use the family pc, which means no modding...but (your gonna laugh at me now ) my granny recently decided to order a laptop...so...I get her old PC!!! LOL
It's 256MB RAM, a 2Ghz Processor, and...oh wait that's it...
But I can hopefully do some proper modding now, I'm thinking 8GB RAM, a quad-core 4Ghz Processor (liquid cooled, naturally) and a HD3850 512mb video card!!! Finally I can play LFS with a sky!
Anyways, I should have it in a couple of weeks...and I should be up and running in maybe a month...I'm really lookin forward to playing PC games with more than 20 fps lol

Re: Kyoto track
You must be dreaming to get that out of your granny PC. With what you plan to do, nothing is savageable on your granny PC, probably the case will be too small to fit all your stuff inside. It won't really be an overhaul of you granny PC, just a new PC that will be bought.
