How My LFS Is Setup
Hey guys, well I've had a couple of requests to post exactly how I have my live for speed graphics setup.
Screen Options:
Resolution: 1068x1050 @ 60Hz (Or as high as you can get it)
Graphics Options:
User LOD: 1.00 (Full)
Mirror LOD: 0.30 (Full)
Dust LOD: 1.00 (Full)
Haze Effect: Yes
Draw Sky: 32bit
Shadow Type: High Res
Full Wheels: +Mirror
Draw Trees: +Mirror
Draw Flags: +Mirror
Draw Rubber: +MIrror
Texture Map Bias: 0.0 (Fully to the right, some prefer -4.0 but I just think 0.0 makes the fences and trees blend in nicer)
Enable Dither: Yes
Enable Mip Filter: Yes
Fullsize Textures: Yes
Car & Helmet Skins: Full
Z Buffer Depth: 24
Misc Options:
Multiplayer Speedup Option: No
Dynamic LOD Reduction: 0.00 (All the way to the LEFT, this is LOD (Level Of Detail) Reduction, you want it set low)
Non LFS Options:
You'll have to enable Anti Aliasing in your garphics card options, this will be different for a lot of cards but I'll explain exactly how I have to do it.
This will only be accurate for people that run Nvidia cards and have the Nvidia control panel installed. If you don't have a Nvidia card then I'm afraid I can't help you with this bit, try looking up how to turn Anti Aliasing on with your card in google or find me in teamspeak and I'll try my best to help you find it.
For those of you with Nvidia cards and control panel here is what to do:
First go to your desktop and click 'Start' then goto 'Control Panel'
http://www.gmhighscore.net/bobo/CLC/Tut ... 0Panel.png
Once that's opend make sure you have it in Classic View (On the left hand side there should be a link that says "Switch to classic view" If it says "Switch to Category view" then you are already in classic and you don't have to bother"
You now need to press the icon that says "Nvidia Control Panel"
http://www.gmhighscore.net/bobo/CLC/Tut ... Panel2.png
If you do not have this icon then you'll have to either look up how to turn Anti Aliasing on with your graphics card or try and find me on teamspeak.
When you Nvidia Control Panel comes up you need to press "Manage 3D Settings"
http://www.gmhighscore.net/bobo/CLC/Tut ... 0Panel.png
Then, press the "Program Settings" tab, look through all the games to see if Live For Speed is there, if it's not then just click the "Add" button and browse for the LFS.exe yourself.
Once you have Live For Speed on the program list, click on it.
In the box underneath you should be given a list of different graphics options, make sure you set 'Anisotropic Filtering' and 'Anti Aliasing - Setting' to as high as they can go. (Mine are usually both set to 16x)
WARNING: Turning up your Anti Aliasing settings can cause your live for speed to run a lot slower as it's a very complex tool that needs a lot of graphical power.
Then click apply and run live for speed so you can test your new options, don't close the Nvidia control panel just yet though, you might need to use it to turn some of the settings back down if you LFS starts to run slow.
Once LFS is runnig, just start a single player game and add a few AI's to simulate a lot of cars on screen, drive a few laps and see what you think. If you LFS has become laggy and unplayable then you'll have to minimize and turn your Anisotropic Filtering (AF) and your Anti Aliasing (AA) Down a bit.
If you have any questions please just reply here on talk to me on teamspeak
I hope this helps
Bobo.

Hah, the program is called 3DNA, you can get the trial but it will only have 1 place to walk around and has adverts all over the walls. Still a fun thing to have though, especially if you go to a lot of LAN partys like meh

Re: How My LFS Is Setup
Oh yes sorry I completely forgot about all my LFS packs
Ermm, I can't acctualy remember exactly what the refletion mod is called, if lfs-databse was working I could give you a link right away.
I seem to remember there are 2 different versions of the reflection mod I have, one called "Nice" and one called "Real" I know I have the "Nice" ones if that helps.
MaxH: I can set custom colours for my games using my graphics card drivers, however, after doing a bit of research it seems my card is one of the only ones that has this feature built in. You can use programs to do the same thing though, try doing a quick google search for "Power Strip" it's what I used to use before I got this grpahcis card. If you have an ATi graphics card I think you can do it with "ATi Tray Tools" aswell.
Hope this helps
