NuFSpace

Post by Stew »

Why do all of my cars look like the night sky driving around?
That would be my other hobby, I'm a huge fan of the worlds space programs.
http://www.watchnasatv.com is my new fan site.

Now is a good time to check it out. With the space shuttle Atlantis up, NASA TV is 24/7 station/shuttle.
There is a direct link to view NASA TV online on my web site.

Want to see the space station orbit over your house?
http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/si ... index.html
Just enter your country/city and it will calculate your opportunities for 2 weeks.
It is an awesome sight, brightest thing in the sky, and it is moving incredibly fast! 17,500 MPH

I'm interested, it passed over my house 2 days ago!

But I agree, the majority of the people here really aren't interested in that...

Eagle that comment wasn't appropriate, it's not up to you to judge who cares and who doesn't.

I personally like the space station tracker I think its really cool. Hopefully next time I can see it in the night sky.
Well I say ChrisP steals Wentz22 spelling skills.

ChrisP says Wentz22 steels signatures.

Thanks, "lack of interest in space exploration" is an issue I deal with every day.

Great! I hope the weather cooperates for your sighting opportunity. This is my next chance
ISS Sat Feb 16/06:36 PM 5 min 55 (max elev) 10 above NW 10 above ESE

It will be just a little bit brighter, since I saw it last, with the new module installed and the shuttle attached.
If you did not get to see the space walk I edited it and compressed it. 7hr 53 min into 5 mins.

Hey that's a cool video, at first when they were removing the panels and the botls or whatever they were coming off. I thought they were floating away I was like NOOO catch them, then I realized they were on a string. :P

We have reached the beginning of the middle of STS-123 Space Shuttle Endeavour's mission to the ISS. I've uploaded the 2 spacewalks, both edited and time compressed, to the you tube channel:
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=watchnasatvcom

I saw some lightning while editing EVA-1, so I decided to make a high resolution short. During that process I realized these thunderstorms were producing red sprites and blue jets as well. find it here:
http://www.watchnasatv.com/wntvmain/Video_Features.html

The web site has been updated, text colors, video feature, weekly wallpaper, etc. This first wallpaper was given to me by a friend that has sat at console in the fire control room for every shuttle flight. Check it out! Tell me what you think.
http://www.watchnasatv.com
I also have a photo with F-22s circling mid launch! I'll put it up next.

I realize some of you are far away and may never get to see a shuttle launch in person. I have treat for you! While capturing chunks of the 7 hour EVA-1, I was hunting personal launch videos (people who were there). I happened across this gem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGL_zcS8iwo
I say I happened across it because it was titled like all the other launch vids (STS123 launch etc.) and had about 400 views. I e-mailed the gentleman suggesting he change the title to something indicating how incredibly close to the pad he was, I guessed 5 miles. He put up the new title, and to my amazement he was only 2.5 miles from the launch! It turns out he works for the shuttle landing facility. WARNING! The sound is huge, so be aware of the volume when you first watch it. My computer and monitor were bouncing across my desk!
